Jaden Akins: B-

This wasn’t one of Jaden Akins’ best overall games, but his offensive game was solid.

Akins finished with 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting as well as 2-for-4 from deep as he got the game started with the first 3-pointer of the night. He got the offense going, but he had a bit of a turnover issue throughout the night and had a couple of fouls as well. He finished with four turnovers which led the team and Wisconsin made the most out of them, accounting for 27 points off turnovers.

Izzo seemed to be frustrated with the Akins turnovers as he held the sophomore guard to just 20 minutes as the rest of the starting guards played at least 29.

Akins will have better nights and his offensive game (outside of the turnovers) was close to an A, but he simply needs to be smarter with the ball in his hands. The stepping out of bounds turnover in a crucial moment in the second half was a prime example.

We probably won’t see him play this reckless again.
