1. MSU holds a third straight team under 60 points

Michigan State’s defense has gotten better every game since the two-game skid against Northwestern and Notre Dame.

In fact, the Spartans have held five of their last six opponents under 60 points, and the only team that broke that plateau was a hot-shooting Buffalo team. The Spartans are 6-0 during this stretch with an average win margin of 14.2 points. The defense has really stepped up and I’d love to know what Tom Izzo told them after getting torched by the Irish and then shocked by Northwestern.

Whatever he said has worked.

Plus, getting Malik Hall back has also made everything that much cleaner.

Michigan State is going to hold Wisconsin under 60 points and if the Badgers are without Tyler Wahl, it could get even uglier offensively. I could see this game being in the 50s for both teams and not so pleasing on the eyes.

But I do think the defense will lead the Spartans to a big road win.
