2. Ball movement was elite

I noticed early on that the Spartans just weren’t settling for bad shots. They were working the ball around, going inside out, driving and dishing. It was one of the better ball movement games that I can remember and it was one of the main reasons why they built a 22-point lead in the first half only to maintain that in the final 20 minutes.

If Michigan State can move the ball like that consistently, there aren’t too many teams in the Big Ten who will be able to slow the Spartans down.

AJ Hoggard didn’t have his best offensive game and yet he had a major impact, dishing nine assists with just one turnover. He did score four points, but it was one of those games where he didn’t need to do too much scoring but rather moving the ball around to open guys.

Joey Hauser added four assists and both Jaden Akins and Tyson Walker dished three.

The Spartans finished with 24 assists on 31 made field goals and only turned the ball over nine times. If you’re looking for a reason why this was a blowout, that’s it right there.
