2. Joey Hauser quietly had one of his best games of the year

Watching the game, we saw a lot of Malik Hall, AJ Hoggard had a double-double, Jaden Akins remained hot, and even Mady Sissoko was throwing down some dunks, but Joey Hauser quietly pieced together one of his best games of the season to date.

In fact, he finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and a steal and he shot 5-for-9 from the floor. But this was such a quietly great game that you would never have noticed.

I said to myself earlier in the game, “Joey is just in the right spot every single play.”

And he was.

Joey was making the right passes, shooting the open shot, grabbing boards, and playing really solid defense in the post. He was one of the main reasons Michigan State was able to pull away and this showed that he doesn’t need to just make threes to have that kind of winning effect on the Spartans.

Hauser had an all-around really good game and maybe even one of his best as a Spartan.
