Quite possibly the leader of this class based on how vocal he was during other commitments, Andrew Depaepe is also a talented defensive lineman.

I could see him being a future multi-year captain and that impact will be felt early on. He’s going to have a tough time cracking the two-deep on the defensive line considering all of the recent additions up front by Mel Tucker and the Spartans, but he has the talent to do so early on.

Depaepe is versatile enough to play on the end or on the interior with his 6-5, 245-pound frame and I could see him having a really good offseason and working his way up the depth chart.

Probably the second-best Spartan recruit in the entire class, I think Depaepe feels like he still has a lot to prove. Coming off an injury, however, he’s going to face an uphill battle.

This is the type of kid who is easy to root for and I think he’ll give us plenty of reasons in 2023.
