Mel Tucker signed a 15-man 2023 class with Michigan State football on Wednesday and while he may not be done adding players this offseason, it’s fair to wonder who will have the biggest immediate impacts out of the current group.

Michigan State’s 2023 class is currently ranked No. 23 in the country after inking 15 players on early signing day and it grew quickly over the past couple of weeks.

In fact, the class has gone from 10 a week ago to 15 on signing day.

Which early signees will have the biggest immediate impacts on Michigan State football and potentially crack the two-deep in 2023?

Honorable Mention: Jordan Hall

The second-to-last commit of the 2023 class may have a large impact right away. Although he’s not the highest-rated guy, Jaelen Smith looks like a future star in the green and white.

There’s a reason Courtney Hawkins made a strong push for Smith to pair with Aziah Johnson. He’s a really good evaluator of receiver talent and he made the right choice pushing for Smith as he was down to the Spartans, Vanderbilt, and Minnesota before committing.

Smith also perfectly fits in this offense after it lost Germie Bernard to the transfer portal. He’s a big-bodied possession receiver who does a lot of things very well.

I could see Smith cracking the playing rotation early on.
