Michigan State football: 5 ideal transfer, 2023 recruiting class additions
4. Kiyaunta Goodwin, OT, Kentucky transfer
Will Michigan State target Kiyaunta Goodwin again or will they just move on? That seems to be the major debate right now, but if it were up to me, the staff would reach back out.
Goodwin was the top prospect on the board for the Spartans a year ago and every single fan was heartbroken when he picked Kentucky in the end. It felt like he was going to be Mel Tucker’s first five-star commit, but he spurned the then-second-year head coach for the Wildcats because of relationships he built in Lexington.
But now he’s transferring from Kentucky.
There’s talk that Goodwin will be looking to stay close to home and pick rival Louisville, but Michigan State has to have some sort of shot here, right? The Spartans need offensive line help and Goodwin has the size and potential that they’re looking for.
Michigan State adding Goodwin would be a heck of a win in the end and it’d more than make up for him committing to Kentucky in the first place.
