Mel Tucker and Michigan State football are in desperate need of some good news. After a weekend that was supposed to yield nothing but good news with official visitors on campus, the Spartans are now down two 2023 commits and Germie Bernard has entered the transfer portal.

But there is still potentially good news stemming from the weekend of official visits, with three major 2023 targets on campus.

According to the 247Sports crystal ball trend, Michigan State is projected to land three-star defensive back Sean Brown who just took an official with a number of other Spartan targets, including four-star quarterback Sam Leavitt.

This could be a good sign for the rest of the group that visited as well since they seem to be relatively close.

Good news for Michigan State football on the horizon?

Michigan State fans have been battered by bad news over the past week and that trend needs to change and it just might if Brown does end up flipping from Arizona.

That flip would go a long way in calming the fan base but it could also make Leavitt reconsider his commitment to Washington State. Brown and Leavitt visited at the same time, are both from out west, and are both committed to Pac-12 programs. Tucker and Co. have to hope that both are on their way to East Lansing in the 2023 class.

While Brown may not have the highest recruiting ranking at No. 1,043 nationally and as the 100th-best defensive back, he’s a long athlete who could be perfect for this MSU secondary.

It’s time to reinstall the ‘No Fly Zone’ and the addition of Brown would help those efforts.
