2. AJ Hoggard approaches a triple-double
The last time Michigan State was at home, AJ Hoggard approached a triple-double against Northwestern with 12 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. He played a decent game despite some turnovers and nearly willed Michigan State to a comeback win in the final minutes, but even his layup to pull the Spartans within one at 64-63 wasn’t enough.
Hoggard is fresh off his best game as a Spartan, scoring 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal in a homecoming win at Penn State.
Momentum is on his side as the junior point guard’s confidence is building.
Hoggard will approach a triple-double for the second time in three games, finishing with 11 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. He’ll add a couple of steals and another block, but I feel like it’s only a matter of time before he completes one of these triple-doubles.
The Big Ten has already seen a couple of triple-doubles this year, and this will be on the radar for yet another.
