Stanton Ramil “locked in” with Michigan State football despite outside interest
Michigan State football currently has one of the top 30 recruiting classes in the country and it’s standing at just 12 deep head into early signing day in a couple of weeks.
It’s not a huge class, but it’s telling that it’s still a top-30 group despite having only a dozen commits while other schools are over 20. Michigan State does have one of the better average star ratings in the 2023 cycle and it would put it in the top 20.
The Spartans have landed a number of Plan A targets, including four-star lineman Stanton Ramil from Alabama.
There were rumors swirling amid the team’s struggles this season that he may be a flip candidate because of the outside interest he’s been getting but he shot down those rumors in a recent 247Sports article by Steve Wiltfong.
Keeping Ramil would be a massive win for the Spartans.
Ramil may start early on for Michigan State football
Anyone who has watched Michigan State over the past couple of seasons knows that the offensive line has been one of the weaker position groups on the team.
So when Ramil committed, it was a potential building block for Chris Kapilovic and Mel Tucker. He could be that guy to really anchor the offensive line for years to come and that might start right away as he could be an immediate impact player for the Spartans.
Fending off other schools is just a massive win for Michigan State and it looks like he’ll be signing early and potentially pushing for a starting spot in year one.
Ramil is ranked the No. 220 overall prospect and 21st-best offensive tackle in the 2023 class, per 247Sports.
