It’s officially transfer portal season, everyone. It feels like Christmas because the Michigan State football coaching staff will be extending offers left and right to guys who have hit the portal and who could fill immediate needs for the Spartans.

We’ve already seen some big names announce their intentions to transfer and Michigan State has lost a few guys already (Jalen Hunt and Dashaun Mallory come to mind) but Mel Tucker and Co. are hard at work to make sure every position group improves next year.

On Monday, the Spartans made the first step in doing just that, offering one of the most talented defensive line transfers on the market.

Tucker offered former top-40 defensive lineman and Texas A&M transfer Tunmise Adeleye.

Michigan State football looking to bolster that defensive line

With the transfers of Hunt, Michael Fletcher, and Mallory over the past week, it seems fairly obvious that Tucker outlined his plan for the group and basically said that he wasn’t getting what he wanted from everyone.

Those guys are gone, along with Jacob Slade who declared for the NFL draft, so why not reach into the portal for some big names who could contribute immediately?

Khris Bogle could very well come back after missing most of the year with an injury and how nice would it be to see a guy like Adeleye lining up next to him?

Adeleye played in two career games with the Aggies, finishing with six tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. He was ranked the No. 39 player in the 2021 class as well as the ninth-best defensive lineman, according to the 247Sports composite.

A future line with Adeleye, Alex VanSumeren, Ken Talley, Bogle, Bai Jobe, Andrew Depaepe, and Jalen Thompson sounds elite, doesn’t it?
