David Stone is one of the best recruits in the 2024 class and Michigan State football has been hot on his trail for months.

As one of Marco Coleman and Brandon Jordan’s top targets in any class, Stone has been getting the full-court press from Michigan State and he has returned the love on numerous occasions. His Twitter profile picture is him in a Michigan State uniform and he even dressed up as a “D1 commit” for Halloween in Spartan swag.

It’s felt like Michigan State has been in a good spot with him for a while and although he’s 2024, I could see him committing sooner rather than later.

And then he dropped a hint on Sunday that made me feel that even more.

Obviously this is just cryptic recruit speak, but Stone knows what he’s doing. He’s hinting at a decision or at least an announcement in the near future which could be good news for the Spartans.

Stone is the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2024 class, per 247Sports. Oklahoma is the other team to watch here.

Michigan State football’s future defensive line looks elite

Although the Spartans have lost a number of players to the NFL draft and the transfer portal from the defensive line over the past week, the future outlook of this group is fantastic.

Ken Talley is coming in as a transfer from Penn State and former four-star, Khris Bogle could opt to come back, Bai Jobe, Andrew Depaepe, and Jalen Thompson are all coming in and Derrick Harmon, Simeon Barrow, Zion Young, and Alex VanSumeren are all returning. This could be one of the better units in the Big Ten with some great coaching as well.

And that’s not to mention the Spartans offered former top-40 defensive line recruit and Texas A&M transfer Tunmise Adeleye on Monday.

Stone would be a huge get and lining him up next to Jobe, Talley, Depaepe, and VanSumeren would be massive for the future of this group.
