Michigan State football looks to be in good shape with 5-star DL David Stone
Michigan State football has had a forgettable past 48 hours.
After losing to Michigan, a handful of players were caught on camera beating up two Wolverine players in the tunnel. Mel Tucker acted swiftly and suspended four guys and offered an apology shortly after the game and reiterated how sorry he was for the incident on Monday.
Let’s focus on something else while that all gets sorted out by the Big Ten, Tucker, and law enforcement, shall we?
Over the weekend, five-star 2024 defensive lineman David Stone dressed up in a Halloween costume that grabbed everyone’s attention.
He went as a “D1 commit” and decked himself out in MSU gear.
This has to be a good sign for the Spartans.
Michigan State football trending for David Stone
Stone is a five-star recruit in the 2024 class and he’s close with current Michigan State defensive end commit Bai Jobe who is the Spartans’ highest-ranked pledge in 2023.
The two train together as high school prospects in Oklahoma and now Stone is at IMG Academy to finish off his prep career. He’s ranked the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 class, per the 247Sports Composite.
Oklahoma looked like the early frontrunner for him, but Michigan State picked up some “FutureCast” predictions to land him on Rivals — basically their version of the crystal ball.
Let’s hope he buys into Brandon Jordan and wants to join Jobe in East Lansing next year because if the Spartans want to get back on track, it all starts in the trenches.
