Need some good news after the debacle that was this past weekend? Well, it doesn’t pertain to the football program, but rather Michigan State basketball.

The season officially starts on Tuesday with an exhibition game against Grand Valley State and there will be some hype surrounding this team even though it’s unranked to start the year.

Guys like AJ Hoggard, Tyson Walker, and Jaden Akins will lead one of the best backcourts in the country while the frontcourt is an area for concern. But we’ll see them in action on Tuesday night against the Lakers.

But no matter what happens this year, there’s a ton of excitement about 2023 and that elite recruiting class that Tom Izzo pieced together.

And guess what? They all plan on signing early.

This is massive.

Michigan State basketball’s 2023 class will be special

Seeing that this group of guys all plans to sign in the early period is great because it will end up as one of the best in the country.

Xavier Booker is regarded by some as the No. 1 recruit in the country and keeping him would be huge. If he signs early and shuts the door on his recruitment, that would make up for the Emoni Bates nightmare recruitment.

Then you have Jeremy Fears, a top-40 point guard who is a borderline five-star and is going to be the leader of this group.

Coen Carr is the freak athlete of the group and he was the last to commit. He’s going to be jumping out of the gym the second he gets to campus.

Lastly, there’s Gehrig Normand who’s an athletic sharpshooter. He, along with Carr, were the last guys offered by Izzo in this class and they both committed just weeks after visiting.

It’s great to see that all four are locked in and ready to take Michigan State to the next level.
