Michigan State football: 3 takeaways from embarrassing loss to Ohio State
2. Jayden Reed got his mojo back
Jayden Reed just needed one game. He needed one game to get back on track and he did just that against the best team in the Big Ten, catching four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Catches that Reed hadn’t been making over the five previous weeks were being made on Saturday afternoon as he had a nifty over-the-shoulder catch and an acrobatic touchdown catch to give Payton Thorne his only score of the day.
It’s great to see Reed playing with confidence again because he didn’t shy away from contact and was making highlight catches on darn near every reception.
Although he only had four catches for 67 yards, he did lead the team and didn’t play a ton in the second half.
Michigan State’s season may be a wash, but having a confident Reed moving forward is only going to make the Spartans more watchable.
