Receivers/Tight Ends: A

The receivers and tight ends actually impressed me the most on Saturday and I have really nothing bad to say about this group that was already down the No. 1 target in Jayden Reed.

Without Reed, guys like Tre Mosley and Keon Coleman needed to step up and both did just that. Not only did those two guys play well, but Daniel Barker had his best game as a Spartan and was catching everything thrown his way.

Let’s start with Coleman because this felt like his coming out game. He was making Washington’s defensive backs look silly all night and it’s a shame Michigan State wasn’t able to win because he would have surely gotten a game ball. He caught nine passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns which were all career-highs and it feels like he’s just getting started. He was making incredible catches all night.

Mosley was next on my list of impressive receivers as he, too, was as sure-handed as they came. He finished with five catches for 64 yards and a score and his hands are honestly glue.

Barker had seven catches for 69 yards and I’d like to see more of him moving forward because he always either seems to be wide open or able to catch anything. His fellow tight end Tyler Hunt was the safety valve of the night, catching four passes for 14 yards.

Montorie Foster added two catches for 22 yards and the group as a whole played great without Reed. I would have liked to see more Germie Bernard, however.
