For the first time this season, Michigan State football is an underdog. Heading into a Week 3 road battle against Washington (2-0), the Spartans are three-point underdogs and the popular pick from the experts has been the Huskies.

Michigan State has out-scored opponents 87-13 through two weeks, covering the spread both times, but Payton Thorne hasn’t been on his game.

Will he get back on track on Saturday night against the Huskies?

Let’s get bold.

3. Germie Bernard scores a TD against his former program

Nine months ago, Germie Bernard signed with Washington out of high school as a four-star receiver recruit. A month later, he enrolled early and was planning a future in Seattle. That didn’t last long as he decided that flipping schools was his best option and he chose his previous No. 2 option, Michigan State.

Bernard instantly had an impact at Michigan State and was projected to make the two-deep after spring ball. He did just that and he’s been the most impressive freshman wideout.

He has three catches for 73 yards and a touchdown this season and he’s going to step up against his former school and record his second career touchdown reception. Bernard may also have a couple more catches for over 50 yards and have himself a nice little game.

Motivation will be there for Bernard to go off.
