1. Michigan State gets the shutout

Folks, Akron is not a good football team. Sure, they have some solid players, but they got out-gained by St. Francis (PA) in the season opener by almost 100 yards. Not great.

Joe Moorhead has a long way to go before his Zips will be relevant. His offense just didn’t look great outside of quarterback DJ Irons but he only completed 22-of-37 passes against St. Francis and his run game didn’t help him out much as the Zips couldn’t even break 100 rushing yards — and he had 14 of them.

Michigan State’s defense should be able to shut the Zips down much like St. Francis was able to do in regulation. I’d like to think so, at least.

Even without Darius Snow and Xavier Henderson, I think the defense is going to do big things and shut the door on the Zips. Jacoby Windmon will have a big game again and the Spartans will win the game somewhere in the range of 38-0.
