2. Payton Thorne throws over 10 touchdown passes

In the first month of last season, Payton Thorne had 10 touchdown passes to just one interception. It was a near-perfect month for the first-year starting quarterback but I think he’s going to do even better this September.

Thorne is going to throw more than 10 touchdown passes this year and I also think he’ll break 1,000 yards through the air in the first four games. Last season, he fell just short of 1,000.

As for his interceptions, I can see him going into that Minnesota game without a single pick and while that defense scares me a bit, I think he’ll make good decisions and either come out of the month of September unscathed with 12 touchdown passes, over 1,000 yards, and no picks or he’ll have just one interception.

Either way, this is a fantastic way to start the season for the second-year starter and he’ll be well on his way toward breaking more Michigan State passing records.
