Picking Jacoby Windmon here almost felt like cheating because it’s pretty much a given that he’s going to have a productive season with the Spartans.

After a breakout year with UNLV in 2021, he decided to spend his last year of eligibility playing for a contender in the Power Five and chose Michigan State because of the Spartans’ need for defensive help and depth on that side of the ball. He chose the Spartans because he knew he was probably going to play a healthy amount right away.

I could have easily chosen Aaron Brule for this spot as well, but I think Windmon is going to be a problem all over the field for opposing quarterbacks. He’s going to be an elite blitzer as he finished with 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks last season with the Rebels.

Scottie Hazelton will have a lot of packages drawn up to utilize Windmon’s strengths as a pass-rushing linebacker.

Not only do I think he could lead the team in total tackles, he could also be an all-conference type of player and serious NFL draft prospect.
