Michigan State football is looking ahead a bit to the 2024 class and five-star defensive lineman David Stone has planned a visit.

Mel Tucker has placed focus on the defensive line in Michigan State football’s 2023 class, landing guys like Bai Jobe, Andrew Depaepe, and Jalen Thompson.

On top of those three guys, there’s a rumor that Ken Talley, a recent Penn State transfer, is trending toward the Spartans. Michigan State has emerged as the frontrunner here but he may have to go the JUCO route first before joining the Spartans which would mean the 2023 class.

After hiring Brandon Jordan this offseason along with Marco Coleman, Tucker has made it his mission to improve the defensive line. And he’s doing just that.

While the 2023 class is shaping up nicely as David Hicks still has to make a decision, Tucker is already putting some stock in his top 2024 targets.

Who is his top 2024 defensive line target? Probably five-star David Stone who is the top-ranked defensive lineman in the class. The IMG Academy star recently took an unofficial visit to East Lansing on July 30 and he’s reportedly already planning a return trip, according to reports.

A mid-October return trip to East Lansing will be huge because the Homecoming game will be electric and this is a chance to watch a ranked matchup between MSU and Wisconsin.

Plus, he’ll get a chance to see just what the vision for him in East Lansing is in person.

This is a huge visit and it’s telling that he has planned another visit on his own dime to check out a program that he just saw over the summer.

Tucker is putting in a ton of work here.
