Ken Talley decided to enter the portal this offseason and Michigan State football is emerging as a frontrunner to land the Penn State transfer.

The 2022 Michigan State football transfer class looked to be all locked up, and why wouldn’t it be?

I mean, the season is less than two weeks away, so there’s no way Mel Tucker could go out and land another transfer, right?

A week ago, former four-star defensive lineman Ken Talley entered the transfer portal after just a few months at Penn State. He has reportedly been “busy” since entering the portal but one team has stood out to him, per The Portal Report.

That team? Michigan State.

Mike Farrell of The Portal Report stated that Michigan State has been more aggressive than other programs in the pursuit of Talley and it looks like the frontrunner.

Farrell went on to say that Talley may play this year at the JUCO ranks before picking a college because of grade issues, but Michigan State has to still remain in play. The Spartans look like the early team to beat for Talley who was the No. 273 overall recruit and 24th-best edge rusher in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports.

Imagine if Tucker is able to bring him in after a year of JUCO ball to join Bai Jobe, Andrew Depaepe, and Jalen Thompson next year. And if he’s able to land David Hicks, that gives him one of the best defensive line classes in the nation.

Michigan State is still focused on adding talented pieces and Talley could soon join the green and white, even if it’s after a year of the JUCO ranks.
