Michigan State basketball’s 2023 commits get boost in updated rankings
Almost every single Michigan State basketball commit in the 2023 class got a boost in the latest recruiting rankings on 247Sports.
Tom Izzo’s 2023 recruiting class is one of his best yet with Michigan State basketball and it got even better, on paper, on Monday.
The updated 247Sports recruiting rankings hit the internet on Monday and almost every single Michigan State pledge in the class jumped up a number of spots. The only commit who didn’t rise? Xavier Booker who went from No. 3 to No. 6. It’s not a big drop, but it can’t be hated on that much because he’s still so highly touted and Rivals’ updated rankings have him No. 1.
Booker could very well end up the No. 1 overall player in the class when it’s all said and done.
Jeremy Fears got closer to that five-star status, moving up from No. 39 to No. 33 — the nation’s top 16 players on 247Sports get five-star status. Moving up a good chunk of spots along with fears was Coen Carr who jumped from No. 56 to No. 45. He’s now just four spots behind Bronny James. He was also the biggest riser in the Spartans’ class.
Can’t forget Gehrig Normand, though. He went from No. 104 into the top 100 at No. 94 which gives Michigan State two guys who rose 10-plus spots.
With the Rivals recruiting rankings come out fully this week, we’ll see how much they have the Michigan State commits moving. We know Booker is No. 1 because we have the top 10 already, but I’m interested to see if Normand, Carr, and Fears got nice bumps.
This class is looking fantastic.
