2. Will Jalen Berger, Jarek Broussard make up for K9’s lost production?

Replacing a running back like Kenneth Walker III will not be easy and no program would be able to do this seamlessly, but Mel Tucker went out and did all he could to ease the transition.

Tucker landed Jarek Broussard and Jalen Berger, two highly-touted running backs from the transfer portal. Broussard is a former Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year while Berger is a former four-star running back who was once considered to be the future of Wisconsin’s backfield. Both will combine to be a heck of a tandem.

But will it be enough to replace Walker’s lost production?

Look, I know Walker ruined running backs for Michigan State fans forever. He was special and watching anyone else tote the rock is just not going to be the same. But we still shouldn’t count Broussard and Berger out because both are going to be very solid. Plus, the Spartans have Harold Joiner, Jordon Simmons, Davion Primm, and Elijah Collins for depth.

Do I think Broussard and Berger will replace that production? I think they’ll do a solid enough job to where the run game won’t take a huge step back.
