Rivals drops every Top250 Michigan State football commit in the 2023 class
Rivals released its brand new Top250 recruits on Tuesday afternoon and every Michigan State football commit in that range dropped.
Mel Tucker is hard at work in preseason camp, getting his Michigan State football team ready for the 2022 season which kicks off for the Spartans in 17 days.
He doesn’t have time to worry about recruiting rankings, especially since he has his best class yet as Michigan State’s head coach. If all goes as planned the rest of the way, he’ll sign a top 25 class for a second straight cycle and build up what seems to be a top-tier program.
While Tucker’s busy game-planning for Western Michigan, Rivals released its latest Top250 and every single Michigan State commit that was in the previous Top250 dropped.
Let’s take a look at the Spartans’ top recruits on Rivals and how far they dropped:
- Clay Wedin, OL (dropped from No. 128 to No. 131)
- Bai Jobe, DE (dropped from No. 150 to No. 151)
- Andrew Depaepe, DE (dropped from No. 156 to No. 163)
- Kedrick Reescano, RB (dropped from No. 174 to No. 182)
- Jordan Hall, LB (dropped from No. 201 to No. 208)
- Cole Dellinger, IOL (dropped from No. 211 to No. 220)
- Demetrius Bell, WR (dropped from No. 220 to unranked)
Honestly, this happens all the time at plenty of schools and it’s not a Michigan State-only problem. But to see every single commit drop anywhere from one to 30-plus spots is interesting.
Still, it’s impressive to see four Michigan State commits in the top 200 and another that probably should be in Stanton Ramil. And hopefully another in Jalen Thompson soon.
Michigan State is still in a good spot, folks, don’t you worry.
