Jalen Berger was the first running back to transfer to Michigan State this past year and he did so in the middle of the 2021 campaign, knowing that Kenneth Walker III was likely moving on after the season. But he’s not the running back I’m most looking forward to seeing.

That would be Jarek Broussard.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Berger is going to be really good in East Lansing and potentially the starter next season if Broussard has the year I think he’s capable of in 2022, but the Colorado transfer just has the most Walker-like game of the two.

Offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic even stated earlier this week that Broussard is like a mouse because he can find little openings and he’s elusive. He is the former Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year for a reason and he’s going to win that starting job, in my opinion, and surpass the 1,000-yard mark this year.

I’m honestly excited to see how closely he compares to Walker because when I watched his Colorado highlights, he showed a lot of the same running tendencies. He had great vision, a good burst, and he didn’t go down on first contact. Sound like anyone you know?

Broussard is going to be fun to watch.
