With the calendar turning to August, we’ll take a look at three Michigan State football targets who could potentially commit this month.

Momentum for the 2023 Michigan State football class has halted a bit over the past month, but the addition of four-star offensive tackle Stanton Ramil got people excited again.

Despite missing out on a slew of top offensive line targets, Mel Tucker stood in there and stole Ramil right from under Tennessee’s nose and he might not be done yet this summer.

Spartan Dawg Con generated momentum again as four-star 2024 wide receiver Nick Marsh committed, but will there be any 2023 pledges in August?

Which three Michigan State targets could commit this month?

Do I think Michigan State is going to land David Hicks this month? I’m going to plead the fifth here, but I do think it’s possible.

Brandon Jordan being hired at Michigan State only helped the Spartans’ chances with the five-star defensive lineman from Katy, Texas, who he has known since middle school. The two have a strong bond and if he’s going to pick the Spartans, Jordan is going to be the main reason.

How likely is this? I wouldn’t bet my mortgage on it, but no one really knows where Hicks is going to go right now as Texas A&M and Oklahoma are right up there as the favorites, but you cannot count the Spartans out. Mel Tucker and Jordan are going to put on that full-court press and the five-star from Texas could commit at any time.

I’d put my money on Texas A&M, but Oklahoma and Michigan State are dark-horses. I think Hicks is the best chance for MSU to land a five-star in this class.
