1. Running Back

I am 100 percent invested in the running back battle as we inch closer to the 2022 season.

Usually when a program loses a running back the caliber of Kenneth Walker III, it has a tough time replacing that production and there’s a huge dip in returning talent. That’s not quite the case with Jarek Broussard and Jalen Berger.

Mel Tucker went out and landed Berger and Broussard to help replace Walker which isn’t going to be easy, by any means, but those are two starting-caliber rushers that could both account for 1,000 yards this season if they’re given the adequate amount of touches.

Broussard is a guy who I believe will be Walker-lite but Berger is a former four-star recruit who was once expected to be the future of the Wisconsin backfield — that’s a huge honor.

There are also guys like Jordon Simmons, Harold Joiner, Davion Primm, and Elijah Collins who could add depth. I don’t think any of these guys will start, but they improve the room.

This battle between Berger and Broussard is going to be top-notch.
