Pierre Brooks has been a breakout star at the Moneyball Pro-Am and he looks like he’s ready to take that next step with Michigan State basketball.

Everyone knows that what happens at Moneyball is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Over the years, we’ve seen some spectacular performances by Michigan State basketball players, but there’s one in particular during this year’s Pro-Am who is catching everyone’s eye.

Pierre Brooks.

The former Mr. Basketball from the state of Michigan had a quiet freshman season with the Spartans as an end-of-the-bench guy but his role is sure to expand this year. He’s already showing that he can handle more responsibility and be a true scoring threat, putting up some insanely gaudy numbers at Moneyball.

That’s not a typo, Brooks is averaging 42.5 points per game during Moneyball. He is pacing all Spartans and is leading the way in terms of scoring and this is a product of his offseason workout plan. He’s been working hard to become a productive member of the rotation.

Michigan State has a desperate need for wings and missing out on some portal targets hurt, but if Brooks’ Moneyball showing is any indication of what to expect, the Spartans will be just fine.

Having Jaden Akins, Malik Hall, and Brooks on the wing will be good for the Spartans if the latter can prove that he’s capable of more than just a couple of minutes per game.

Clearly he can score and he looks to be in great shape. I have a feeling this is going to be a huge season for a Year 2 Brooks.
