It was a tough choice to pick between Jarek Broussard and Jalen Berger because both are very talented rushers and they’ll have to fill some big shoes as Kenneth Walker III is gone.

But I’m rolling with Broussard because he reminds me a lot of Walker.

The junior running back from Colorado was the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the year in 2020 before taking a bit of a step back in 2021. In his breakout season, he rushed for 895 yards and five touchdowns on 5.7 yards per carry before going for 661 yards and two touchdowns in 2021.

Michigan State is going to utilize the run game plenty behind an improved offensive line. Payton Thorne will need someone to take the pressure off his shoulders and I think Broussard will be that lead back and a real candidate to reach 1,000 yards.

Don’t get me wrong, Berger could very well take over and push for 1,000 yards as well, but Broussard is the most like Walker, in my opinion, and a good offensive line will make him look like an All-Big Ten running back.

Buy Broussard stock now.
