A third SEC commit on the list? Yes, that’s what we call the Mel Tucker Effect (trademark pending).

Elliot Washington has been a rumored flip candidate since the spring when he took an unofficial visit during Michigan State’s spring game instead of heading to Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s on the same day — kind of a big move considering he was committed to the Tide then, too.

The Florida-based prospect has been committed to Alabama since January, but Michigan State has made a serious run recently. So much so, in fact, that it’s led to some Michigan State insiders putting in high-confidence crystal balls for him to land in East Lansing on 247Sports.

You have to believe that even though he didn’t flip during the spring that Michigan State still has the momentum here.

Washington recently took an official to Michigan State on June 24 and the feeling here is that the Spartans are the biggest threat to Alabama. What a time to be alive.

The four-star is ranked the No. 109 overall recruit and sixth-best safety in the 2023 class.
