Michigan State football just made the top three for four-star twin linebackers Andrew and Michael Harris from Florida. Will the Spartans land them?

With June official visits in the rearview mirror, Mel Tucker and Michigan State football are gearing up for a flurry of decisions in the coming weeks.

Last month, Payton Kirkland announced a late-July decision date, Caleb Presley is closing in on one, King Mack is making his decision on Thursday, Bai Jobe is announcing soon, and now the Harris twins are just a week away from making their commitment official.

On Wednesday, exactly one week before a decision, Andrew and Michael Harris (obviously a package deal) announced a top three of Michigan State, Maryland, and UCF.

They spoke to Chris Boyle of The Daytona Beach News-Journal and the interview felt very pro-UCF, but they also spoke highly of Michigan State. The current word on the street is that Michigan State and UCF are the two leaders but the Spartans may be sitting at No. 2 because of the Knights’ proximity to the Harris twins’ hometown.

Michigan State is going to have to put in some work if it’s going to land the twins over UCF on July 6.

What do I believe the Spartans’ chances are (outside of the obvious and literal answer of 33 percent)? I’m going with an even 50 percent. I feel like their mom really loves Tucker and Michigan State and you can tell they liked their visit to East Lansing. The main draw here might be early playing time (they said they want to become the best linebackers to ever come out of each program) but being close to home and their girlfriends may play a role.

A lot could change from now until next Wednesday, but I truly think it’s a toss-up between Michigan State and UCF but I have a feeling the Spartans will close here.

Michael and Andrew are both track stars and top-150 recruits on 247Sports so they would be massive additions to the 2023 class.
