Michigan State football is trending heavily for four-star offensive tackle Payton Kirkland from Orlando, Fla., who just visited East Lansing.

Just days after visiting East Lansing and the Michigan State football program, four-star offensive tackle Payton Kirkland is looking like a Spartan lean.

It should have been pretty obvious when hearing about his aunt crying because of the “amazing” and “genuine” people she met at Michigan State but the crystal balls on 247Sports have put all the speculation to rest — at least for now.

The crystal balls began to roll in for Michigan State in terms of Kirkland on Thursday afternoon as Corey Robinson and Justin Thind placed one each with a confidence level of “5” with a VIP scoop accompanying it. If you’re subscribed to 247Sports, you can see why they made this crystal ball prediction.

Kirkland was at Michigan State on June 17 and raved about the program and the people but he recently took a trip to Miami on June 20 to see Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes. But it feels like the Spartans made such an impression that not even Miami could sway him.

Adding a 6-foot-6, 345-pound offensive tackle from Orlando over the likes of Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, and Alabama would be a massive recruiting victory for Tucker. Plus, this would only help the Spartans land four-star offensive tackles Miles McVay who is really good friends with Kirkland, and both were on a visit together last weekend.

Kirkland is ranked the No. 261 overall recruit and 25th-best offensive tackle in the class and a pairing of him and McVay would be massive. Either way, this is a huge development.

Chris Kapilovic may get one of his ‘Plan A’ targets in the class early on.
