Michigan State football has jumped to No. 8 in the recruiting rankings after gaining a commitment from four-star lineman Clay Wedin.

For the second time on Tuesday and third time in four days, Michigan State football has reeled in a four-star commit from SEC country.

Clay Wedin, a four-star offensive lineman from Florida, made his verbal commitment to Michigan State on Tuesday evening, just hours after four-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton made his and days after his official visit to East Lansing.

Wedin was expected to take an official visit to Auburn in two weeks but that seems to be more than likely canceled after this announcement.

The Spartans pushed hard for his commitment and made a strong impression this past weekend, vaulting up his board and leading to this announcement. It came kind of fast as the Spartans were in talks with other linemen and Wedin kind of fell by the wayside but things started heating up during his visit and the crystal balls started flowing in.

Wedin has an excellent offer sheet while also being ranked the No. 374 overall recruit and 21st-best interior offensive lineman in the class, according to the composite. His offer sheet includes Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, and USC.

Another impressive recruiting win for Tucker as Wedin joins a class that already has Johnathan Slack and is pushing for guys like Madden Sanker, Chase Bisontis, Miles McVay, Payton Kirkland, and Samson Okunlola.

Mel Tucker just continues to crush it on the recruiting trail as this is now his 11th commitment in the class, fifth since official visits kicked off, and eighth from a four-star recruit.
