Michigan State football was trending heavily for one of the best cornerbacks in the 2023 class, four-star Jaylon Braxton from Texas.

Just days after receiving a third four-star commitment in the span of a week, Michigan State football has landed yet another.

Four-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton took an official visit to East Lansing last week and he seemed to be trending heavily toward the Spartans immediately following the trip even with scheduled visits to Baylor (June 10), Arkansas (June 17), and Cal (June 24) approaching.

After a flood of crystal balls came in for the Spartans on Tuesday afternoon, Braxton made it official and committed to Michigan State.

Braxton is now the second four-star cornerback to commit to Michigan State over the past week, or so, joining Chance Rucker who made his decision early last week.

This also marks the third defensive back commit in the class as Braxton joins Rucker and Eddie Pleasant while the Spartans are also looking good for four-star Caleb Presley, four-star safety Elliot Washington, four-star safety Ryan Yaites, four-star safety King Mack, four-star safety Jayden Bonsu, and three-star cornerback Colton Hood.

Braxton looked like a Baylor lean until his official visit to Michigan State and he may have wanted to see Waco one last time before making a decision. He’s ranked the No. 245 overall recruit and 27th-best cornerback in the class, per the composite.

The Frisco, Texas, native picked Michigan State over the likes of Baylor, Arkansas, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Stanford, TCU, and Utah, among others.

Michigan State is red-hot on the recruiting trail right now, moving up to No. 12 (from No. 15) in the national rankings after landing Braxton.
