There are a few cornerbacks high on Michigan State’s list of priorities in the 2023 class and while Chance Rucker is one, Colton Hood is another.

Although he’s not the highest-rated player on the board for the Spartans, he has plenty of potential to be a lockdown guy. He’s ranked the No. 667 overall recruit and 62nd-best cornerback in the 2023 class, according to the composite.

Don’t believe me that he’s better than his “modest” ranking? Just look at his list of offers. He’s been offered by Clemson, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, and UCF. That’s the offer sheet of a four-star prospect, but Hood is flying under the radar on the recruiting databases.

Michigan State looks like it’s in a good spot for the three-star cornerback from Georgia and his lone official visit scheduled this month is to East Lansing on June 10.
