Michigan State basketball expands 2023 board with 4-star PF Milan Momcilovic
Tom Izzo has expanded the 2023 recruiting board for Michigan State basketball by offering four-star wing Milan Momcilovic.
The concern regarding Michigan State basketball’s roster construction for the 2022-23 season is building throughout the fanbase, but Tom Izzo doesn’t seem too worried about it.
In fact, he’s already looking ahead to the 2023 recruiting class and expanding the board which actually is a much-needed move.
Currently, the Spartans hold a commitment from four-star point guard Jeremy Fears who is the No. 35 prospect in the class and Izzo is looking to add to that with a number of spots open as he heads into next season with a few open scholarships.
Izzo is also targeting guys like Xavier Booker, Braelon Green, Scotty Middleton, Devin Royal, and now Milan Momcilovic who was just offered on Thursday.
This is an exciting offer for the Spartans because he can play on the wing and even down in the post as a power forward kind of like a more athletic Joey Hauser.
Momcilovic is ranked the No. 41 overall recruit in the class and the sixth-best power forward, according to the composite on 247Sports. He’s also the state of Wisconsin’s No. 1 prospect.
What is the most intriguing about his game is that he is an inside-out player and fits the Izzo mold. He can back down defenders and turn around and hit a contested jumper or he can take the ball to the rim and finish strong. He can also spot up from the perimeter, making him a triple-threat.
Michigan State is the latest to offer this talented forward from Wisconsin, joining the likes of Marquette, Iowa State, Minnesota, Miami, UCLA, Virginia, and Xavier.
It’s good to see Izzo expanding the board and widening the net for some of the top prospects available in 2023.
