Michigan State Football: Former Michigan star aiding Spartans’ recruiting efforts
Former Michigan star Rashan Gary gave Michigan State football the perfect recruiting tool with a simple quote about Brandon Jordan.
The hatred between Michigan and Michigan State football is palpable.
It’s very obvious when you hear former Michigan and Michigan State players talk about the rivalry that there’s very little respect for each other.
But that didn’t stop one former Michigan player from helping Michigan State’s recruiting efforts in a huge way.
That one player is Rashan Gary who has had a solid three-year NFL career thus far and he praised new Michigan State pass rush coordinator Brandon Jordan for helping him obtain success.
Gary is right, he’s gotten better every year and he credits that improvement to the work he’s done with Jordan in the offseason and he looks to be on the verge of a massive season with Green Bay.
At one point in time, Gary was considered one of the top recruits at the high school level before coming to Michigan and playing his way into an NFL draft selection after three years. And now he’s improving each season thanks to a coach Mel Tucker hired to take over on the defensive line along with Marco Coleman.
If hearing an NFL defensive lineman praise a Michigan State coach for his continued improvement isn’t enough of a recruiting tool to land some of the best prospects on the line, I don’t know what would be.
Knowing it or not, Gary gave Michigan State a huge boost in recruiting because of this quote and all of Jordan’s clients have been singing his praises as well.
