One name that has been red-hot in recent weeks after the spring game is Elliot Washington, a four-star safety from Venice, Fla., who’s currently committed to Alabama.

The rumor swirling around East Lansing after the spring game was that Washington was on the verge of flipping to the Spartans and it made sense because he chose to visit Michigan State instead of Alabama and their spring games were on the same day.

That was telling.

It seems as if Michigan State has pulled ahead in this recruitment and Washington has somewhat played down his interest in the Spartans since the spring game, but insiders like them here. He’s been trending toward the Spartans since that spring game, picking up some crystal balls shortly after his unofficial visit.

The 5-11, 195-pound safety has ties to Michigan State and it feels like the Spartans are the new team to beat and it’s only a matter of time before he flips.

Washington is ranked the No. 132 overall recruit and seventh-best safety in the class, according to the composite.
