Michigan State basketball offers 4-star SF Scotty Middleton
Michigan State basketball has extended another offer to a 2023 class player on Thursday in four-star small forward Scotty Middleton.
Just one week after extending a new offer to a 2023 small forward in Devin Royal, Michigan State basketball floated out another to four-star Scotty Middleton.
Royal is a three-star small forward from Ohio and Middleton is a four-star small forward from Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas. Both are talented players on the rise, and if all goes as planned, Tom Izzo will end up with at least one.
Oh, and Michigan State has a connection with Middleton here as Tum Tum Nairn is actually his coach at Sunrise Christian.
While Tum Tum isn’t going to tell him where to go, he could provide some insight into his former head coach and program. Tum was a huge fan of Izzo and even spent some time after his playing days as a graduate assistant. If anyone knows how to provide all the info and probably paint the program in a positive light, it’s Nairn.
Middleton has excellent length at the wing, standing 6-foot-6, and he’s aggressive. He can drive to the rim and finish strong and he also has a solid outside shot. His defense is also a plus.
Michigan State faces an uphill battle here for the No. 49 prospect in the country and ninth-best small forward, according to the composite. He recently released a list of his top five schools which were Seton Hall, UConn, Kansas, Ohio State, and Texas A&M.
Izzo wouldn’t have extended an offer if he didn’t feel like the Spartans had a legit shot here and it feels like there’s some mutual interest as well.
