4. Who steps up as WR3 and RB1?

Michigan State is losing some serious talent on the offensive side of the ball in Kenneth Walker III and Jalen Nailor but there’s more than enough in place to make up for their lost production.

Replacing Walker is going to be the toughest task, but Mel Tucker made sure to bring in some dogs to try and do just that. Jalen Berger comes in from Wisconsin and he’s already on campus this spring while the team will have to wait until summer to welcome in Colorado’s Jarek Broussard.

Also returning are Elijah Collins, Jordon Simmons, Harold Joiner, and Davion Primm. We saw what the offense looked like with just Collins, Joiner, and Simmons leading the way in the Peach Bowl and it wasn’t pretty. The run game was non-existent and the offense sputtered as Payton Thorne wasn’t on top of his game through three quarters.

The Spartans will have a good idea of what the run game will look like this spring with Berger, Joiner, Primm, Simmons, and Collins all getting a look.

As for the WR3 spot (Jayden Reed will be WR1 and Tre Mosley is WR2), will it be someone like Keon Coleman who is a freak athlete or Germie Bernard who comes in as a spring enrollee after originally committing to Washington as a four-star?

If Coleman and Bernard are your top options for WR3, you’re in a good spot.
