2. LaVall Jordan

Another name that would satisfy the “younger juice” crowd would have to be LaVall Jordan even though he didn’t have a ton of success at Butler where he played basketball from 1997-2001.

Jordan and Butler recently parted ways after he went 83-74 over five seasons with the Bulldogs so he’s back on the market and likely looking for an assistant job where he could get back on his feet. Michigan State would be a great fit for him.

You might be wondering what his connections with Michigan State might be and they’re pretty simple: he has a solid relationship with Tom Izzo after spending about a decade as a Big Ten assistant at Iowa and Michigan and he’s from Albion, Mich. He knows the program and Izzo has to be aware of the fact that he’s available.

Jordan is 42 and played college ball the same time as Charlie Bell and both have coaching experience, relationships with Izzo, and grew up in Michigan.

Can’t go wrong with a younger name with six total years of head coach experience.
