Michigan State Football: 3 recruits who could commit in April 2022
Michigan State football hasn’t had a commitment since early February but with some big visits coming up, these guys could commit in April.
There is some serious juice within the Michigan State football program and Mel Tucker is to thank for that. Despite the program being in a bad spot when Tucker took over, he has made quick work with a turnaround, going from 2-5 in year one to 11-2 in year two.
Michigan State is back near the top of the Big Ten already and the recruiting is arguably the best it has ever been with Tucker really selling hope and now results.
Tucker’s 2022 recruiting class finished near the top 20 and now the 2023 class is on pace to finish close to the top 10.
It’s been about two months since the Spartans added to that class which is ranked No. 13 in the country, but here’s who could commit in the month of April.
It was tough to choose between Jalen Thompson and Enow Etta for this spot, but it just feels like the former is taking his time in his recruitment. He just took his first trip to East Lansing since Brandon Jordan and Marco Coleman took over the defensive line but he’s already on his way to Cincinnati, Louisville, and Kentucky this weekend.
That makes me feel like Etta might feel the pressure to scoop up one of the remaining defensive line spots in Michigan State’s 2023 class.
Etta has been recruited hard by Andrew Depaepe who committed to the Spartans in February and has been one of the most outspoken leaders of the class. His fellow 2023 four-star defensive lineman wants him to head to East Lansing and it just feels almost inevitable for whatever reason. The fit just seems right.
The hiring of Jordan is going to help the Spartans’ case here and Etta has plenty of interest in the green and white. He’s ranked the No. 58 overall player and ninth-best defensive lineman in the class, per 247Sports.
