4. Malik Hall realizes his potential, locks in

There were games during the 2021-22 season in which it looked like Malik Hall was the best player on the floor. He looked unstoppable on multiple occasions, both hitting deep shots and driving the lane with his strong frame to score easily at the rim.

But then he seemed to hit a wall.

At the end of the year, he seemed to disappear too much and was struggling to stay consistent. He wasn’t playing like he had through the first part of the season and his shooting percentage dropped drastically. He still made over 50 percent from the floor and 42 percent from deep, but he was shooting over 50 percent from 3-point range for a while.

Hall needed to step up and act like the captain and leader that he was supposed to be, but he disappeared in the most important moments.

If he realizes his potential and puts in the work to be a leader and go-to threat on offense, he could be one of the breakout stars in the Big Ten and a valuable player for the Spartans.

Hall reaching his potential in 2022-23 would be bad news for the rest of the Big Ten.
