Michigan State Basketball: 3 different Spartans star in each Big Ten tourney game
By Carlos Araoz
Game 2: Marcus Bingham Jr.
The Grand Rapids native erupted for a stellar stat line of 19 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks (in only 22 minutes of action). He was dominant all night long against Wisconsin.
The Badgers had no answer for his low-post scoring, control of the glass, and interior defensive presence. He helped make life miserable for Big Ten Player of the Year, Johnny Davis. Bingham Jr. altered several of the shots taken by Davis. The 7-footer contested everything in sight and played a critical role in limiting Davis to 3-of-19 shooting.
Honorable Mention: Tyson Walker had ice in his veins against Wisconsin in the game’s deciding moments. He scored nine of his 11 points in the final two minutes. The most impressive takeaway though might be his seven-assist to zero-turnover showing. He was not only clutch, but he also took care of the ball 24 hours after 11 turnovers almost doomed the Spartans.
