3. Turnovers don’t have to be an Achilles heel

After turning the ball over seven times in the last three minutes against Maryland, totaling 16 and almost surrendering the win, the Spartans came back and protected the ball against Wisconsin.

Michigan State had three early turnovers but after the early woes, the Spartans settled down and only had seven turnovers total for the entire game.

The Spartans showed they can protect the ball even while running up and down the court. If they can play with this style of play where they run but are smart with the ball, they can beat anyone in the country; they just have to play consistent in this field. These Spartans are so good when they are not making boneheaded turnovers and we saw some of the things they could do in this one.

If Michigan State continues this, it will surprise most come the tournament next week advancing further than people would assume based off of a sluggish February.

Keep this up and they might just hang another Big Ten Tournament title banner up as well.
