Michigan State Basketball: 5 potential 2022 NCAA Tournament opponents

1. Davidson Wildcats (27-5; projected 10 seed)

This would probably be the most poetic matchup of all time. Michigan State and Foster Loyer parted ways this offseason as the former Clarkston (Mich.) point guard entered the transfer portal and made Davidson his new home.

Yes, he chose the program that produced Steph Curry to help get his career back on track.

And Foster has done just that, leading the Wildcats to a 27-5 record after a 1-2 start and he’s also leading the team in scoring, the nation in free throw percentage, and his 3-point percentage makes him one of college basketball’s top sharpshooters. He led Davidson to the A-10 regular-season title and they’re playing for the conference tournament championship on Sunday.

Davidson has an offense that can put up points and a relatively stingy defense so this matchup would have to be considered a nightmare for Spartan fans.
