Michigan State Basketball: 3 quick reactions to disappointing loss at Ohio State

2. Tyson Walker’s aggressiveness
Tyson Walker is sometimes so frustrating to watch. He has shown that he can be a spark on offense and take over the game when the Spartans need a bucket. The problem is that he does not show this spark until 15 minutes left in the game.
Walker has to be more aggressive on the offensive side of the ball; some might say he needs to be more selfish.
Walker runs the half-court game so well. He is better and running the half-court offense than AJ Hoggard. His issue is that defenders know that he won’t shoot the ball in the first half and so they are always looking for the pass.
If Walker can assert himself and be more aggressive early in the game it will open his teammates up. Teams will have to play his shot early rather than the pass. This will, in theory, result in fewer turnovers and more points for Walker early, and more assists for him overall in the game.
Walker needs to be an aggressor for this Spartan team to make any sort of run in the Big Ten Tournament. We know he can do it. Now he just has to want to be the aggressor.
