Braden Miller, OT

OT room:

Losing: AJ Arcuri, Dan VanOpstall
Returning: Jarrett Horst, Spencer Brown, Kevin Wigenton, Brandon Baldwin, Dallas Fincher
Bringing in: Ashton Lepo

Braden Miller (No. 1,019 nationally, No. 89 OT) also brings size to this offensive line. He is in the same situation as Lepo, being a tall but lighter (290 pounds) offensive tackle.

One thing of note is Miller’s offer list. He received offers from some of the better schools in the nation (Michigan, Utah). This could equate to the staff pushing Miller onto the field faster to avoid losing him to the transfer portal.

With the uncertainty of the MSU offensive line, Miller is a player that by no means should be overlooked. On the other hand, it is unlikely to see a day one offensive line starter or contributor, especially in the Big Ten.

Prediction

Redshirt. As intriguing of a prospect as he is, I do not see how the Spartans can play Miller with a senior Horst and already developed players waiting after a year of redshirting. His main competition this year will be Ashton Lepo, as the best three between Miller, Lepo, Wigenton, Fincher, and Baldwin will be on the two deep next year.

A few years of the Spartan “Juice Squad” will make Miller an intimidating figure for any Big Ten edge rusher to line up against. Chris Kapilovic will have a scary offensive line in a few years time.
