1. Michigan State pulls off an important upset

This is one of the most important games of the season as Michigan State has lost 4-of-5 games and it’s in desperate need of an end to this slump. A win at Iowa would surely take care of that.

The Hawkeyes are playing really well right now outside of a tough loss to Michigan at home, but the Wolverines kind of laid the groundwork for a win in Carver-Hawkeye. They need to pound it in the post to Marcus Bingham and Julius Marble and kind of play an inside-out game. They also need to make sure to get AJ Hoggard and Tyson Walker on the floor at the same time.

I see Gabe Brown finally having a good game and not disappearing because, well, Michigan State needs him to be a leader. And Malik Hall, too, will have himself a game. Max Christie will score 10 points to boost the offense a bit while Joey Hauser plays a nice complementary role.

We need to see a strong defensive effort against this high-powered Iowa attack and Michigan State will rise to the occasion, out-tough the Hawkeyes, and pull off a huge road win.

This will be the Spartans’ second ranked road win of the season and it’ll give them some serious momentum heading into Saturday’s bout with Purdue. Michigan State by three.
